The Girl In That Hotel

I walked into that hotel –
A mere shell, devoid of sleep.
A dull day – no stories to tell,
No memories to keep.

And then I saw those pretty eyes –
I didn’t know her name;
But ever since I saw those eyes,
I’ve never been the same.

I sat across her table;
I saw her dressed in red.
I’ll forever be unable
To get her out of my head.

Like gazing at a star,
I could silently rejoice –
In beauty, best seen from afar,
And the melody of her voice.

Now, I have a story to tell,
And a poem to show,
For the girl in that hotel,
I’ll never get to know.
